The SmartStar® E Series GOTO Mountings run as Alt-Azimuth. The GPS system is optional. The controller database contains 5,000 objects. The controller also has an LCD screen 4 rows of data up to 21 columns long and backlit LED buttons.
The SmartStar® E Series Mounting has a 5-speed control (2X, 16X, 64X, 256X, and a Max slew) in all directions. The mounting runs using either 8 AA batteries or the AC adapter which is included as the standard equipment. Batteries are not included. In addition, a 12VDC Car lighter adapter is available as an option.
This mounting has a payload of 11 pounds and a 1" Stainless Steel tripod. It will handle a large variety of small telescopes. The telescopes are easily mounting through the industry standard dove-tail mounting bracket.
The SmartStar® E Series is highly portable so you may easily take it with you into the field. This mounting currently is available as either just the mounting or with any of three different telescopes.
