High Quality ED LER Planetary Eyepieces

These eyepieces are a group of very advanced 1-1/4 inch eyepieces with fantastic eye relief. They all have 20 mm eye relief. There are 6 optical elements and 2 these elements are made of advanced ED (Extra-low dispersion) glass. This yields great edge-to-edge sharpness and greatly reduced chromatic aberration. And a super long eye relief for such high powers. The high powers of these eyepieces coupled with exceptional eye relief makes these excellent eyepieces for fine planetary detail. These ED eyepieces make observing at high powers a pleasure instead of a strain! A planetary eyepiece you can wear with glasses!

While not super or ultra wide, these have a respectable field of view of 55°. These are fully multi-coated. Every air-to-glass surface has advanced broadband coatings. The edges of the lenses are blackened to give you better contrast and prevent stray light. The eye lens is quite large so you do not have a little pin-hole sized opening in the back. Powers range from high to ultra-high for planetary and other observing at the highest powers.

Contrast in very important to bring out fine planetary detail. These eyepieces have edge-blackened optics and advanced multi-coated optics. These additional steps in the manufacturing process result in better contrast with your telescope. In any view through a telescope, especially where a bright star or planet is present, their is some light scatter. With standard optics some of this light may be reflected back into the eyepiece and results in decreased contrast. With edge-blackened optics, this reflection is eliminated. Coupled with the advanced multi-coating on these eyepiece, you have a great product. The fully multi-coated optics on these eyepieces appear green at small angles and magenta (purple) at large angles. .
