OWL Astronomy Products - Enhanced Wide-Angle Eyepieces

This group of 1-1/4 inch eyepieces have super-wide angle fields and generous eye relief. These two factors has lead to our name of Enhanced Super-wide Angle eyepieces. We offer them at great prices. One of the major suppliers of astronomical accessories sells these at a much higher price and their product is described as only partly multi-coated. Our series is fully-multicoated. All of the eyepieces in this series have an apparent field of view (AFOV) of 66°.

The brand of Enhanced Super-Wide eyepieces we are listing here are made by one of the best known manufactures in China. They make eyepieces for many of the major astronomical companies with the companies' names on them. These are quite attractive with a sleek black body, bright chrome barrels, and gold top ring. To make it even better, we have added a deluxe bolt-type case to all of these eyepieces. This is a $4 value.

Contrast in very important to bring out faint deep-sky features and fine planetary detail. These eyepieces have edge-blackened optics and advanced multi-coated optics. These additional steps in the manufacturing process result in better contrast with your telescope. In any view through a telescope, especially where a bright star or planet is present, there is some light scatter. With standard optics some of this light may be reflected back into the eyepiece and results in decreased contrast. With edge-blackened optics, this reflection is eliminated.

To speed our shipments of these from our supplier in China, we no longer wait for our logo to be inscribed on the eyepieces. But there are the same fine product!

The fully multi-coated optics on these eyepieces appear green at small angles and magenta (purple) at large angles. Multi-coating is more difficult to produce but results in increased contrast
