Because this finder gives an unmagnified image, it provides a very wide field. This wide field makes it easy to quickly find the area you want. A red dot is projected onto the sky at infinity from a red LED. When you superimpose the dot on the sky, you get the image centered on your object. This finder has a light built-in blue filter superimposed on the sky.

This finder is very similar to the Orion EZ Finder. It has an adjustment for the brightness of the red LED as well as
adjustments up/down and right/left. As with any finder, you first align it using a distant stationary object in your background. The LED then points where the scope is aimed.

This finder requires a dove-tail base to fit its bracket. Many brands of telescopes will have bases to fit this bracket (many Meade, Orion, and Celestron telescopes). If your telescope does not have one, or you wish to use two finders, we have the bases available as an option.
