Sturdy, Portable Alt-Azimuth Mounting

The MiniTower® GOTO Mounting has many outstanding features. It runs Alt-Azimuth and is sturdy and very portable. On this mounting, an internal 32 channel GPS system is standard. The controller database contains 130,000 objects plus has room for 256 user defined objects. The controller also has the largest LCD screen on the market. It has 8 rows of data up to 21 columns long and backlit LED buttons.

The MiniTower® has a 9-speed control (1X, 2X, 8X, 16X, 64X, 128X, 256X, 512X, and a Max slew) in all directions. The mounting runs using either 8 AA batteries, the AC adapter, or the 12VDC Car adapter which are included as the standard equipment. Batteries are not included.

This mounting has a payload of 25 pounds plus 8 pounds on the balance side. This allows a second telescope or other equipment to be mounted on the second side as shown below.

It has a 1.5" Stainless Steel tripod. It will handle a large variety of small to medium telescopes. The telescopes are easily mounting through the industry standard dove-tail mounting bracket. A 1.5kg counter weight is included for balance. For portability a handy carry case in included as shown in the photo below.

In addition to the hand controller, you may control the telescope with your computer using any ASCOM compatible software. The USB cable between the telescope and the computer is standard equipment. This attaches to your computer for upgrades or ASCOM control. The The Guide 8 software for computer control is available as an option.

The MiniTower® G Series is sturdy but highly portable. Everything fits into the standard carry case.
