Carson XM-HD Series - Outstanding (With Phase Coated Prisms and HD Coated Lenses!)
Carsonís XM-HDô series is the ultimate in advanced binocular technology. These combine phase coated prisms with a new HD (High Definition) optical coating technology to ensure the brightest, sharpest images possible. This series is an outgrowth of the Carson XM series listed below. See that series for additional details on phase coatings.

This Carson Optics HD series includes 4 different binoculars ranging from 32 mm to 50 mm diameter objective. These all have good eye relief, and super wide field of view. Rubberized armor coating makes these binoculars rugged and shock proof.

Because of the HD technology in these binoculars, they would be the choice where the brightest and sharpest images are demanded. These binoculars have a absolutely fantastic light transmission to give these bright images. They meet or exceed the transmission of almost everything on the market including those with MUCH higher prices. Check an independent laboratory report below that compares the Carson HD 8X42 against the best.

Carson XM Series Binoculars - Outstanding (With Phase Coated Prisms!)
This Carson Optics series includes 4 different binoculars ranging from 25 mm to 42 mm diameter objective. These all have good eye relief, and super wide field of view. Rubberized armor coating makes these binoculars rugged and shock proof.

The binoculars in this series have "phase correction coated" prisms. Because of their compactness, binoculars that use roof prisms are the best for field use for nature/bird study and hiking. These prisms use reflections inside the prisms to give an erect image. Because these reflections may be out of phase with standard coatings, roof prism binoculars may have a decrease in the brightness and apparent sharpness of the images. This series of binoculars has special phase correction coatings to eliminate this problem yielding brighter and sharper images. In the past roof prism binoculars were not preferred for astronomy and other dim light conditions. Phase coatings now make these an excellent choice for any light conditions.

EMPEROR Binoculars - (With Phase Corrected Prisms)
The Emperor series of binoculars have very large eyepieces, very long eye relief, and a super wide field of view. These are a redesigned version of the excellent Event series we had previously listed. But the version has Phase Coated prisms! They make excellent binoculars for birding because of these features. The adjustable eye cups make these binoculars a pleasure to use with or without eye glasses. At our great price, we consider these a fantastic value. These are among the most economical phase corrected binoculars you can buy. A GREAT VALUE!

The Emperor series comes in two color versions - forest green and charcoal grey. We checked out both and decided that we like the gray version somewhat more. Both colors are the same price, but we decided that we cannot stock all models. The green version would be a special order from our supplier in Florida. The grey is usually in stock ready to ship.
